गुप्तः कुशिक पुत्रेण कौसल्य आनन्द वर्धनः ।
लक्ष्मणेन सह भ्रात्रा विदेहेषु वसति असौ ॥ ॥१-६८-१५॥
Guptaḥ kuśika putreṇa kausalya ānanda vardhanaḥ । Lakṣmaṇena saha bhrātrā videheṣu vasati asau ॥ ॥1-68-15॥
Translation
"The one who increases Kausalya's joy (Rama) is well-protected by the son of Kushika (Vishvamitra) and is staying in Videha with his brother Lakshmana."

"कौशल्या के आनंद को बढ़ाने वाला (मेरा पुत्र राम) कुशिकनंदन विश्वामित्र द्वारा रक्षित है और अपने भाई लक्ष्मण के साथ विदेह (मिथिला) में निवास कर रहा है।"
English Commentary
Dasharatha relays the critical intelligence to his council. He refers to Rama as Kausalya ananda vardhana (the increaser of Kausalya's joy), acknowledging the maternal bond and the relief this news will bring to the Queen. The key emphasis is on safety: Rama is guptah (guarded) by Vishvamitra. This validates the decision to send Rama with the Sage in the first place. The mention of 'living in Videha' sets the destination for the upcoming expedition.
