मंत्रिणो बाढम् इति आहुः सह सर्वैः महर्षिभिः ।
सु प्रीतः च अब्रवीत् राजा श्वः यात्रा इति च मंत्रिणः ॥ ॥१-६८-१८॥
Maṃtriṇo bāḍham iti āhuḥ saha sarvaiḥ maharṣibhiḥ । Su prītaḥ ca abravīt rājā śvaḥ yātrā iti ca maṃtriṇaḥ ॥ ॥1-68-18॥
Translation
The ministers, along with all the great sages, said, 'Excellent!' The King, well-pleased, then said to the ministers, 'The journey shall be tomorrow.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
सभी महर्षियों सहित मंत्रियों ने "बहुत अच्छा" (बाढम्) ऐसा कहा। तब अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर राजा ने मंत्रियों से कहा—"कल ही यात्रा होगी।"
English Commentary
The council gives unanimous approval with the word Badham (So be it/Excellent). With the green light from both the secular (ministers) and spiritual (sages) wings of his administration, Dasharatha wastes no time. He declares shvah yatra—'We travel tomorrow.' This decisive action reflects his joy (su pritah). The immediacy of the departure indicates the high priority of the event. The verse captures the decisive moment where the plan turns into action.

प्रस्ताव सर्वसम्मति से पारित हो गया। 'बाढम्' एक संस्कृत अव्यय है जिसका अर्थ है 'हाँ', 'अवश्य' या 'बहुत अच्छा'। ऋषियों और मंत्रियों ने एक स्वर में समर्थन किया। समर्थन मिलते ही दशरथ ने निर्णय सुना दिया—'श्वः यात्रा' (कल यात्रा)। 'सु प्रीतः' (अत्यंत प्रसन्न) दशरथ की मानसिक स्थिति है। इतनी लंबी यात्रा की तैयारी के लिए केवल एक रात का समय देना यह बताता है कि राजा का उत्साह चरम पर था। पूरी अयोध्या में उत्सव और यात्रा की तैयारी शुरू हो गई।
