ते राज वचनात् गत्वा राजवेश्म प्रवेशिताः ।
ददृशुः देव संकाशम् वृद्धम् दशरथम् नृपम् ॥ ॥१-६८-२॥
Te rāja vacanāt gatvā rājaveśma praveśitāḥ । Dadṛśuḥ deva saṃkāśam vṛddham daśaratham nṛpam ॥ ॥1-68-2॥
Translation
Having gone there by the King's command and being ushered into the royal palace, they saw the aged King Dasharatha, whose presence was like that of a god.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राजा (जनक) के आदेश से जाकर और राजमहल में प्रवेश पाकर, उन्होंने देवता के समान तेजस्वी वृद्ध महाराज दशरथ के दर्शन किए।
English Commentary
The messengers are granted immediate audience in the royal palace (rajaveshma). The description of King Dasharatha is striking: he is vriddham (aged) yet deva sankasham (god-like in splendor). This juxtaposition highlights that while his body has aged, his royal aura and spiritual potency remain undiminished. It creates a respectful image of the patriarch who is about to receive the most significant news of his later life. The seamless entry suggests high diplomatic priority.

दूतों का अयोध्या के राजमहल में प्रवेश और राजा दशरथ का प्रथम दर्शन यहाँ वर्णित है। दशरथ जी को 'वृद्धम्' (बूढ़े) और 'देव संकाशम्' (देवताओं के समान तेजस्वी) कहा गया है। वृद्धावस्था में भी उनका तेज कम नहीं हुआ था। यह वर्णन एक गरिमामय और अनुभवी शासक की छवि प्रस्तुत करता है। दूतों को तत्काल प्रवेश मिलना यह बताता है कि दूसरे राज्य के दूतों के प्रति अयोध्या की व्यवस्था कितनी सतर्क और सत्कारशील थी।
