पुत्रयोः उभयोः प्रीतिम् लप्स्यसे वीर्य निर्जिताम् ।
दिष्ट्या प्राप्तो महातेजा वसिष्ठो भगवान् ऋषिः ॥ ॥१-६९-१०॥
Putrayoḥ ubhayoḥ prītim lapsyase vīrya nirjitām । Diṣṭyā prāpto mahātejā Vasiṣṭho bhagavān ṛṣiḥ ॥ ॥1-69-10॥
Translation
"You will obtain the joy of your two sons, which has been won by their valor. By good fortune, the great radiant Sage Vasistha has also arrived."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"आप अपने दोनों पुत्रों (राम और लक्ष्मण) की उस प्रीति (सुख) को प्राप्त करेंगे जो उन्होंने अपने पराक्रम से जीती है। सौभाग्य से महातेजस्वी भगवान ऋषि वसिष्ठ भी पधारे हैं।"
English Commentary
Janaka speaks to Dasharatha about the upcoming union. He mentions the prītim (joy/affection) related to the two sons, specifically noting it was vīrya nirjitām (conquered by valor). This acknowledges that Rama won Sita's hand through the mighty feat of breaking the bow, not just by arranged negotiation. Janaka then immediately expresses reverence for Sage Vasistha. Acknowledging the spiritual guide before discussing further logistics highlights the priority given to Dharma in their interactions.

जनक दशरथ को याद दिलाते हैं कि उनके पुत्रों ने अपने 'वीर्य' (पराक्रम) से प्रीति जीती है। यहाँ संकेत शिव धनुष भंग (राम द्वारा) और राक्षसों के संहार (दोनों भाइयों द्वारा) की ओर है। जनक यह भी कहते हैं कि उन्हें अपने पुत्रों से मिलने का सुख मिलेगा। साथ ही, वे वसिष्ठ जी की उपस्थिति को भी अपना सौभाग्य मानते हैं। एक गृहस्थ के घर ऐसे उच्च कोटि के ऋषि का आना उस कुल की पवित्रता को प्रमाणित करता है। जनक का विनय यहाँ स्पष्ट झलकता है।
