Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
हर्षेन्न महता युक्ताः ताम् निशाम् अवसन् सुखम् ।
अथ रामो महातेजा लक्ष्मणेन समम् ययौ ॥ ॥१-६९-१७॥
Harṣeṇa mahatā yuktāḥ tām niśām avasan sukham । Atha Rāmo mahātejā Lakṣmaṇena samam yayau ॥ ॥1-69-17॥
Translation
Filled with great joy, they lived (passed) that night happily. Then, the highly radiant Rama arrived along with Lakshmana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे (सभी लोग) बड़े हर्ष के साथ उस रात सुखपूर्वक रहे। तदनन्तर महातेजस्वी राम, लक्ष्मण के साथ (पिता के पास) आए।
English Commentary
The verse indicates a peaceful and joyous night passed by the royal parties. The phrase avasan sukham suggests a restful stay, free from the anxieties of travel or diplomatic negotiations. The narrative then shifts to the highly anticipated reunion: Rama, described as mahātejā (of great radiance/splendor), arrives with Lakshmana to see their father. This marks the physical reuniting of the family after the princes' adventurous journey with Sage Vishvamitra.

उस रात दोनों शिविरों में उत्सव का माहौल था। चिंता और तनाव समाप्त हो चुका था। 'हर्षेण महता' (अत्यधिक हर्ष) इसका प्रमाण है। इसके बाद दृश्य बदलता है—राम और लक्ष्मण, जो अब तक विश्वामित्र के संरक्षण में थे, अपने पिता दशरथ से मिलने आते हैं। राम को 'महातेजा' कहा गया है, जो उनके हाल ही के पराक्रम (ताड़का वध, यज्ञ रक्षा, धनुष भंग) को दर्शाता है। पिता और पुत्रों का यह मिलन बहुत दिनों बाद हो रहा है, इसलिए यह क्षण भावुकता से भरा है।
