एते द्विजाः प्रयान्तु अग्रे स्यंदनम् योजयस्व मे ।
यथा काल अत्ययो न स्यात् दूता हि त्वरयन्ति माम् ॥ ॥१-६९-५॥
Ete dvijāḥ prayāntu agre syandanam yojayasva me । Yathā kāla atyayo n syāt dūtā hi tvarayanti mām ॥ ॥1-69-5॥
Translation
Let these Brahmins proceed in the front, and harness my chariot, so that there is no delay in time; indeed, the messengers are hurrying me.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ये सभी ब्राह्मण (ऋषिगण) आगे चलें और मेरे रथ को भी तैयार करो, ताकि समय का उल्लंघन (विलंब) न हो, क्योंकि दूत मुझे जल्दी करने के लिए प्रेरित कर रहे हैं।
English Commentary
King Dasharatha displays protocol by allowing the sages (dvijāḥ) to lead the procession. He reiterates the order to prepare his chariot to avoid any kāla atyayo (lapse of time). Interestingly, he shifts the responsibility for his haste onto the messengers, stating they are rushing him. This is a charming diplomatic touch, acknowledging the urgency conveyed by King Janaka's envoys, while also revealing his own eagerness. It highlights the King's responsiveness and his desire to reach Mithila promptly to honor the invitation.

दशरथ जी ऋषियों को सबसे आगे चलने का सम्मान देते हैं, जो क्षत्रिय धर्म के अनुसार ब्राह्मणों के प्रति आदर का सूचक है। वे बार-बार 'काल अत्ययो न स्यात्' (समय न बीते) कह रहे हैं, जो उनकी व्यग्रता को दर्शाता है। वे कहते हैं कि जनक के दूत उन्हें जल्दी चलने के लिए कह रहे हैं। यह एक औपचारिक बहाना भी हो सकता है, क्योंकि वास्तव में दशरथ स्वयं अपने पुत्रों को देखने और विवाह संपन्न करने के लिए अत्यंत आतुर हैं। यहाँ राजा की विनय और समय के प्रति पाबंदी दोनों स्पष्ट हैं।
