सद्यो अहम् त्वत् प्रतीक्षो अस्मि वेद्याम् अस्याम् प्रतिषितः ।
अविघ्नम् कुरुताम् राजा किम् अर्थम् हि विलम्ब्यते ॥ ॥१-७३-१६॥
Sadyo aham tvat pratīkṣo asmi vedyām asyām pratiṣitaḥ । Avighnam kurutām rājā kim artham hi vilambyate ॥ ॥1-73-16॥
Translation
"I am already seated at this altar, eagerly waiting for you alone. Let the King proceed without any hindrance; for what reason is there a delay?"

"मैं तो उसी वेदी पर प्रतिष्ठित होकर तत्परता से आप ही की प्रतीक्षा कर रहा हूँ। राजा दशरथ निर्विघ्नतापूर्वक कार्य संपन्न करें, अब विलम्ब किसलिए हो रहा है?"
English Commentary
Janaka displays urgency and enthusiasm. Having established that the venue is theirs ('this is your house'), he now states he has been waiting at the altar specifically for them. The phrase Kim artham hi vilambyate (Why is there a delay?) is a rhetorical nudge to proceed immediately. It indicates that from the bride's side, everything is perfect and ready. He invites Dasharatha to proceed Avighnam (without obstacles/hesitation), signaling the transition from preparatory dialogues to the actual commencement of the wedding rituals.

जनक की उत्सुकता और तत्परता यहाँ दिखाई देती है। वे कहते हैं कि मैं तो पहले से ही तैयार बैठा हूँ। 'अविघ्नम् कुरुताम्' का अर्थ है कि अब बिना किसी बाधा के विवाह संस्कार शुरू किया जाए। यह एक प्रकार का प्रेम पूर्ण आग्रह है कि जब दोनों पक्ष तैयार हैं, मण्डप सजा है, और मुहूर्त शुभ है, तो औपचारिकताओं में समय व्यर्थ नहीं गवाना चाहिए। जनक यहाँ एक यजमान की भूमिका में हैं जो यज्ञ (विवाह) शुरू करने के लिए अधीर हैं।
