केकय अधिपती राजा स्नेहात् कुशलम् अब्रवीत् ।
येषाम् कुशलकामो असि तेषाम् संप्रति अनामयम् ॥ ॥१-७३-३॥
Kekaya adhipatī rājā snehāt kuśalam abravīt । Yeṣām kuśalakāmo asi teṣām samprati anāmayam ॥ ॥1-73-3॥
Translation
"The King, Lord of Kekaya, has affectionately asked about your welfare. Those for whose welfare you wish are currently free from illness."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"केकय अधिपति (मेरे पिता) ने स्नेहपूर्वक आपकी कुशलता पूछी है। आप जिनकी कुशलता चाहते हैं, वे सब इस समय निरोग (स्वस्थ) हैं।"
English Commentary
Yudhajit conveys the greetings from his father, the King of Kekaya. The message is framed with snehāt (out of affection), reinforcing the familial bond. He assures Dasharatha that everyone back in Kekaya—whom Dasharatha cares about—is in good health (anāmayam). This exchange of pleasantries is crucial in maintaining diplomatic ties and easing into the primary reason for the visit.

युधाजित अपने पिता (केकय नरेश) का संदेश दशरथ को देते हैं। 'स्नेहात्' शब्द बताता है कि दोनों राज्यों के संबंध केवल राजनीतिक नहीं, बल्कि प्रेमपूर्ण हैं। युधाजित यह भी सूचित करते हैं कि दशरथ के ससुराल पक्ष (कैकेयी के मायके) में सब 'अनामयम्' (रोग रहित/कुशल) हैं। यह प्राचीन पत्राचार या संदेश वाहक की शैली है, जहाँ सबसे पहले बड़ों का संदेश और स्वास्थ्य की जानकारी दी जाती है।
