चत्वारः ते चतसॄणाम् वसिष्ठस्य मते स्थिताः ।
अग्निम् प्रदक्षिणम् कृत्वा वेदिम् राजानम् एव च ॥ ॥१-७३-३५॥
Catvāraḥ te catasṝṇām vasiṣṭhasya mate sthitāḥ |
Agnim pradakṣiṇam kṛtvā vedim rājānam eva ca ॥1-73-35॥
Translation
Those four brothers, abiding by the direction of Vashistha, along with the four brides, circumambulated the sacred fire, the altar, and the King (Janaka).

वशिष्ठ जी के मत (निर्देश) में स्थित उन चारों भाइयों ने उन चारों वधुओं के साथ अग्नि, वेदी और राजा (जनक) की प्रदक्षिणा (परिक्रमा) की।
English Commentary
This verse describes the Agni Pradakshina (circumambulation of the fire), a core ritual of Hindu weddings. It explicitly states they followed Vashistha's counsel ("Vasisthasya mate sthitah"), reinforcing the theme of obedience to spiritual authority. Interestingly, they circled not just the fire and the altar, but also King Janaka. This act honors the giver of the brides and the host of the Yajna. Circling clockwise represents aligning oneself with the cosmic rhythm and keeping Dharma (symbolized by the fire) at the center of their married life.

पाणिग्रहण के बाद 'अग्नि-प्रदक्षिणा' (फेरे) का वर्णन है। यहाँ स्पष्ट लिखा है 'वशिष्ठस्य मते स्थिताः'—अर्थात् उन्होंने अपनी मर्जी से नहीं, बल्कि गुरु वशिष्ठ के निर्देशानुसार कार्य किया। यह रघुकुल की मर्यादा है। उन्होंने तीन चीजों की परिक्रमा की: अग्नि (देवता/साक्षी), वेदी (यज्ञ स्थल), और राजा जनक (कन्यादाता/गुरुजन)। परिक्रमा सम्मान प्रकट करने का एक तरीका है। अग्नि को केंद्र में रखकर फेरे लेना यह दर्शाता है कि उनका जीवन अब धर्म-केंद्रित होगा।
