श्रुत्वा तु अहम् अयोध्यायाम् विवाह अर्थम् तव आत्मजान् ।
मिथिलाम् उपयातान् तु त्वया सह महीपते ॥ ॥१-७३-५॥
Śrutvā tu aham Ayodhyāyām vivāha artham tava ātmajān । Mithilām upayātān tu tvayā saha mahīpate ॥ ॥1-73-5॥
Translation
"But hearing in Ayodhya that your sons had gone to Mithila along with you for the sake of the wedding, O Lord of the Earth..."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे महीपते! अयोध्या में मैंने सुना कि आपके पुत्र विवाह के लिए आपके साथ मिथिला गए हुए हैं।"
English Commentary
Upon reaching Ayodhya, Yudhajit gathered intelligence regarding the King's whereabouts. He learned the joyous news that the princes (ātmajān) were in Mithila for their wedding. The phrase tvayā saha (along with you) confirms that the entire royal household's focus had shifted to Janaka's kingdom. Instead of returning home or waiting in Ayodhya, Yudhajit decided to chase the party to Mithila.

अयोध्या पहुँचकर युधाजित को वास्तविकता का पता चला। उन्होंने सुना कि दशरथ अपने पुत्रों के साथ 'विवाह अर्थम्' (विवाह के प्रयोजन से) मिथिला गए हैं। यह जानकर उन्हें न केवल भरत की स्थिति का पता चला, बल्कि विवाह का शुभ समाचार भी मिला। बिना विलंब किए, उन्होंने अपनी योजना बदल दी और मिथिला की ओर प्रस्थान किया। यह श्लोक कथा के प्रवाह को जोड़ता है कि कैसे केकय नरेश का पुत्र इस विवाह समारोह का हिस्सा बना।
