पितुः मम ददौ दिव्यम् जमदग्नेः महात्मनः ।
न्यस्त शस्त्रे पितरि मे तपो बल समन्विते ॥ ॥१-७५-२३॥

English Commentary
The bow reached Jamadagni, Parashurama’s father. The verse highlights Jamadagni's nature as "nyasta shastre" (one who has laid aside weapons) and focused on "tapo bala" (power of penance). This context is crucial for the tragedy that follows. Jamadagni possessed the ultimate weapon but had chosen the path of peace. This vulnerability—a pacifist holding a weapon of mass destruction—sets the stage for the brutal attack by the Kshatriyas that ignited Parashurama's vengeance.

ऋचीक ने यह दिव्य धनुष जमदग्नि (परशुराम के पिता) को दिया। यहाँ एक दुखद विरोधाभास है। जमदग्नि 'न्यस्त शस्त्रे' थे, अर्थात उन्होंने शस्त्रों का प्रयोग त्याग दिया था और पूर्णतः तपस्या में लीन थे। वे एक शांत ऋषि थे। ऐसे अहिंसक ऋषि के पास इतना विनाशकारी हथियार होना और अंततः उसी शस्त्र-त्याग के कारण उनकी हत्या होना, परशुराम के जीवन की सबसे बड़ी त्रासदी और उनके क्रोध का कारण बना।
