Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
शरम् अप्रतिमम् राम मोक्तुम् अर्हसि सु व्रत ।
शर मोक्षे गमिष्यामि महेन्द्रम् पर्वतोत्तमम् ॥१-७६-२०॥
śaram apratimam rāma moktum arhasi su vrata |
śara mokṣe gamiṣyāmi mahendram parvatottamam ॥1-76-20॥
Translation
O Rama of excellent vows, you should release this matchless arrow. Upon the release of the arrow, I shall proceed to Mahendra, the best of mountains.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सुव्रत (सुंदर व्रत पालन करने वाले) राम! आप इस अनुपम बाण को छोड़ दीजिये। बाण के छूटते ही मैं श्रेष्ठ पर्वत महेन्द्र पर चला जाऊंगा।
English Commentary
Parashurama urges the conclusion of the encounter. The epithet 'Su-vrata' (one of good vows) acknowledges Rama's righteousness. The release of the arrow is the necessary closing act of this drama. Parashurama cannot depart until the transaction is complete—the energy must be spent (by destroying the worlds) for balance to be restored. He is ready to return to Mahendra mountain, symbolizing his return to a dormant state of deep meditation, leaving the active protection of the world to Rama.

'सुव्रत' संबोधन महत्वपूर्ण है। यह इंगित करता है कि राम अपने वचनों और धर्म का उत्तम पालन करने वाले हैं। परशुराम जी अब अधीर हैं कि राम बाण छोड़ें और यह प्रकरण समाप्त हो। बाण का छूटना उस 'ऋण' या 'लेन-देन' की समाप्ति है जो इन दो शक्तियों के बीच हो रहा है। जैसे ही राम उनके पुण्यों को नष्ट करेंगे, परशुराम भारमुक्त होकर अपनी तपस्थली को लौट सकेंगे। यह 'पुराने' के विसर्जन और 'नये' युग के स्वागत की अंतिम प्रक्रिया है।
