आरोप्य स धनू रामः शरम् सज्यम् चकार ह ।
जामदग्न्यम् ततो रामम् रामः क्रुद्धो अब्रवीत् इदम् ॥१-७६-५॥
Āropya sa dhanū rāmaḥ śaram sajyam cakāra ha |
Jāmadagnyam tato rāmam rāmaḥ kruddho abravīt idam ॥1-76-5॥
Translation
Having strung the bow and fixed the arrow upon it, the angry Rama spoke this to Rama the son of Jamadagni.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस धनुष को चढ़ाकर और उस पर बाण का संधान करके, क्रोधित श्री राम ने जामदग्नि नंदन राम (परशुराम) से यह कहा।
English Commentary
Valmiki's style here is striking, referring to both figures as 'Rama'—Dasarathi Rama and Jamadagnya Rama. Sri Rama not only took the bow but strung it and fixed the arrow instantly (sajyam cakāra). Parashurama’s condition was merely to string the bow, but Rama went a step further by readying the projectile. The Vaishnava arrow is now live, and the situation has reached a critical point where the arrow demands a target.

वाल्मीकि रामायण की यह शैली अद्भुत है जहाँ दोनों को 'राम' कहा गया है—एक दाशरथि राम और एक जामदग्न्य राम। श्री राम ने न केवल धनुष लिया, बल्कि पलक झपकते ही उसे चढ़ा भी दिया और बाण संधान कर लिया (सज्यम् चकार)। परशुराम ने केवल धनुष चढ़ाने की शर्त रखी थी, लेकिन राम ने बाण तानकर स्थिति को निर्णायक मोड़ पर ला दिया। अब वैष्णव बाण लक्ष्य मांग रहा है।
