न हि अयम् वैष्णवो दिव्यः शरः पर पुरंजयः ।
मोघः पतति वीर्येण बल दर्प विनाशनः ॥१-७६-८॥
Na hi ayam vaiṣṇavo divyaḥ śaraḥ para puramjayaḥ |
Moghaḥ patati vīryeṇa bala darpa vināśanaḥ ॥1-76-8॥
Translation
For this divine Vaishnava arrow, conqueror of enemy cities, does not fall in vain. Through its power, it destroys the pride of strength.
हिंदी अनुवाद
क्योंकि यह दिव्य वैष्णव बाण, जो शत्रु नगरों को जीतने वाला है, निष्फल नहीं गिरता। यह (शत्रुओं के) बल और अहंकार का विनाश करने वाला है।
English Commentary
Sri Rama explains why the arrow cannot be retracted. It is described as bala darpa vināśanaḥ—the destroyer of the pride of strength. The arrow does not merely kill; it obliterates ego. Parashurama held pride in his martial dominance, and this arrow is designed to neutralize that very arrogance. This verse underscores the transition of divinity: the subduing of the Avatar of fury by the Avatar of righteousness.

श्री राम स्पष्ट करते हैं कि वे बाण वापस क्यों नहीं रख सकते। यह बाण 'बल दर्प विनाशनः' है—अर्थात यह केवल शरीर नहीं मारता, बल्कि 'बल के अहंकार' को नष्ट करता है। परशुराम को अपने बल पर गर्व था, और यह बाण उसी गर्व को लक्ष्य बना रहा है। यह घटना परशुराम अवतार की समाप्ति और राम अवतार के पूर्ण उदय का संकेत है।
