Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अभिवाद्य ततो रामो वसिष्ठ प्रमुखान् ऋषीन् ।
पितरम् विह्वलम् दृष्ट्वा प्रोवाच रघुनंदनः ॥१-७७-२॥
abhivādya tato rāmo vasiṣṭha pramukhān ṛṣīn |
pitaram vihvalam dṛṣṭvā provāca raghunandanaḥ ॥1-77-2॥
Translation
Then Rama offered salutations to Vashishtha and the other leading sages. Seeing his father agitated, Raghunandana spoke to him.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनंतर श्री राम ने वसिष्ठ आदि प्रमुख ऋषियों का अभिवादन किया और अपने पिता को (भय से) विह्वल देखकर रघुनंदन (राम) उनसे बोले।
English Commentary
Rama's conduct exemplifies perfect etiquette ("maryada"). Despite just proving his supremacy over Parashurama, he first offers respects to Guru Vashishtha and the sages. He then attends to his father, King Dasharatha, who is still shaken ("vihvalam") by the terror of the encounter. This highlights Rama’s grounding; he transitions seamlessly from a cosmic victor back to a dutiful son and disciple.

विजय प्राप्त करने के बाद भी राम शिष्टाचार नहीं भूलते। पहले उन्होंने गुरुजनों (वसिष्ठ आदि) को प्रणाम किया, जो उनकी विनयशीलता का परिचायक है। राजा दशरथ अभी भी 'विह्वल' (घबराए हुए/व्याकुल) थे, क्योंकि उन्हें लगा था कि परशुराम उनके पुत्रों का वध कर देंगे। राम पुत्र धर्म का पालन करते हुए अपने पिता को आश्वस्त करने के लिए आगे आते हैं।
