ऋष्यशृङ्गः तु जामाता पुत्रान् तव विधास्यति ।
सनत्कुमार कथितम् एतावत् व्याहृतम् मया ॥१-९-१९॥
ṛṣyaśṛṅghaḥ tu jāmātā putrān tava vidhāsyati |
sanatkumāra kathitam etāvat vyāhṛtam mayā ॥1-9-19॥
Translation
That Ṛṣyaśṛṅga, who is your son-in-law, will arrange for (the birth of) your sons. This much, which was spoken by Sanatkumāra, has been recounted by me.

वह ऋष्यशृंग, जो तुम्हारे जामाता (दामाद) हैं, तुम्हारे पुत्रों की व्यवस्था करेंगे (उत्पत्ति में सहायक होंगे)। सनत्कुमार द्वारा कही गई इतनी बात मैंने कह दी है।
English Commentary
This verse concludes the Ninth Sarga of the Balakanda. It directly connects the narrative back to the main speaker, Maharishi Vasiṣṭha, and the listener, King Daśaratha. The word 'tava' (your) is addressed to King Daśaratha, not Romapāda, as the narrative shifts focus to Daśaratha's lack of progeny. After recounting the story of Romapāda and Ṛṣyaśṛṅga's marriage, Maharishi Vasiṣṭha offers reassurance and a prophecy to Daśaratha. Vasiṣṭha states that Ṛṣyaśṛṅga, now Romapāda's son-in-law (and who will later assist in Daśaratha's sacrifice), 'putrān tava vidhāsyati' (will arrange for your sons). This prophecy demonstrates an unwavering faith in Ṛṣyaśṛṅga's spiritual potency. Finally, Vasiṣṭha validates his statement by declaring that what he has recounted is 'sanatkumāra kathitam' (spoken by the divine sage Sanatkumāra), thus establishing the authenticity and divine source of the prediction. This verse sets the final stage for the events leading to the birth of Rāma.
