मयि भावो हि वैदेह्याः तत्त्वतो विनिवेशितः ।
मम अपि भावः सीतायाम् सर्वधा विनिवेशितः ॥ ॥४-१-५२॥
mayi bhāvo hi vaidehyāḥ tattvato viniveśitaḥ । mama api bhāvaḥ sītāyām sarvadhā viniveśitaḥ ॥ ॥4-1-52॥
Translation
For truly, the affection of Vaidehi (Sita) is placed in me, and my affection too is wholly and in every way placed in Sita.

विदेहराज की पुत्री (सीता) का प्रेम वास्तव में मुझमें ही निहित है, और मेरा प्रेम (भाव) भी पूर्ण रूप से सीता में ही बसा हुआ है।
English Commentary
Here, Rama defines the metaphysical depth of his relationship with Sita. He declares that Sita's 'bhava' (heart/emotion/consciousness) is 'tattvatah' (truly and fundamentally) invested in him, and likewise, his heart is 'sarvadha' (in every way) invested in her. This mutual absorption suggests that they may be two bodies, but they share one soul. It explains why the separation is so unbearable—they have lost a part of their own selves. This verse elevates their relationship beyond mere romance to a spiritual union. Rama uses this truth to validate his fears: because their connection is absolute, the pain of separation must be equally destructive for both. It is a profound statement on the nature of true marital devotion.

यहाँ श्रीराम अपने और सीता के प्रेम की गहराई और 'अद्वैत' (oneness) को परिभाषित करते हैं। वे कहते हैं कि सीता का 'भाव' (प्रेम/चित्त) 'तत्त्वतः' (वास्तव में/पूर्ण रूप से) मुझमें स्थित है, और मेरा भाव 'सर्वधा' (हर प्रकार से) सीता में। यह पारस्परिक समर्पण ही उनके रिश्ते की नींव है। यह श्लोक स्पष्ट करता है कि उनका प्रेम केवल शारीरिक आकर्षण नहीं, बल्कि आत्मिक जुड़ाव है। जब दो व्यक्तियों का चित्त एक-दूसरे में पूरी तरह समाहित हो, तो वियोग प्राणलेवा हो जाता है। राम यहाँ स्वयं को सांत्वना दे रहे हैं कि क्योंकि हमारा प्रेम सच्चा है, इसलिए हमारी पीड़ा भी समान होगी। यह श्लोक वाल्मीकि रामायण में दाम्पत्य प्रेम के सबसे सुंदर उदाहरणों में से एक है।
