सुग्रीवो अपि व्यनदद् घोरम् वालिनो ह्वान कारणात् ।
गाढम् परिहितो वेगान् नादैः भिन्दन् इव अंबरम् ॥ ॥४-१२-१५॥
sugrīvo api vyanadad ghoram vālino hvāna kāraṇāt । gāḍham parihito vegān nādaiḥ bhindan iva ambaram ॥ ॥4-12-15॥
Translation
Sugriva, too, tightening his garments firmly, let out a terrifying roar to challenge Vali, as if piercing the sky with the sound.

सुग्रीव ने भी वाली को बुलाने के लिए अपनी कमर कसकर, आकाश को भेदने वाली भयंकर गर्जना की।
English Commentary
Sugriva's act of 'gāḍham parihito' (tightening his garments) signifies physical preparation for combat. The phrase 'nādaiḥ bhindan iva ambaram' (piercing the sky with sound) illustrates the intensity of his roar. This is not just noise but a strategic 'Simhanada' (lion's roar) intended to insult the enemy and provoke him into coming out. It shows Sugriva's newfound confidence backed by Rama's support.
