आह्वयस्व इति माम् उक्त्वा दर्शयित्वा च विक्रमम् ।
वैरिणा घातयित्वा च किम् इदानीम् त्वया कृतम् ॥ ॥४-१२-२६॥
āhvayasva iti mām uktvā darśayitvā ca vikramam । vairiṇā ghātayitvā ca kim idānīm tvayā kṛtam ॥ ॥4-12-26॥
Translation
"After telling me to 'challenge him' and displaying your valor, and then having me beaten by the enemy, what have you done now?"

"मुझसे 'ललकारो' ऐसा कहकर और अपने पराक्रम का प्रदर्शन करके, फिर मुझे शत्रु से पिटवाकर, अब आपने यह क्या किया?"
English Commentary
This is Sugriva's accusation. The phrase 'kim idānīm tvayā kṛtam' (what have you done now?) carries a mix of deep frustration and anger. Sugriva reminds Rama that the strategy was Rama's, not his own. He had relied on Rama's displayed 'vikrama' (valor/promise). The use of the causative 'ghātayitvā' (having caused me to be beaten/killed) implies that Sugriva feels Rama intentionally used him as bait without fulfilling the protective part of the deal. It is a moment of profound mistrust in the alliance.

यह सुग्रीव का अभियोग (accusation) है। यहाँ 'किम् इदानीम् त्वया कृतम्' (यह तुमने क्या किया?) में तीव्र हताशा और क्रोध मिश्रित है। सुग्रीव राम को याद दिला रहे हैं कि यह योजना राम की थी, सुग्रीव की नहीं। सुग्रीव ने राम के 'विक्रम' (पराक्रम/वादे) पर भरोसा किया था। 'घातयित्वा' (पिटवाकर/मरवाकर) शब्द का प्रयोग बताता है कि सुग्रीव को लगता है कि राम ने उन्हें जानबूझकर मृत्यु के मुख में धकेला। यह मित्रता में अविश्वास का क्षण है।
