त्वत् अधीना वयम् सर्वे वने अस्मिन् शरणम् भवान् ।
तस्मात् युध्यस्व भूयस्त्वम् मा शंकी च वानर ॥ ॥४-१२-३६॥
tvat adhīnā vayam sarve vane asmin śaraṇam bhavān । tasmāt yudhyasva bhūyastvam mā śaṃkī ca vānara ॥ ॥4-12-36॥
Translation
In this forest, we are all under your guidance, and you are our refuge. Therefore, O Vanara, fight again and do not fear.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस वन में हम सब तुम्हारे अधीन हैं और तुम ही हमारे आश्रय हो। इसलिए हे वानर! तुम शंका मत करो और दोबारा युद्ध करो।
English Commentary
For a prince of the Raghu lineage to call a forest-dwelling Vanara his 'śaraṇam' (refuge) demonstrates Rama's lack of ego and diplomatic acumen. Rama understands that without local geographical knowledge and an army, defeating Ravana is impossible. By saying 'tvat adhīnā' (dependent on you), Rama psychologically empowers Sugriva, encouraging him to overcome the fear of his brother and prepare for battle once more.

एक वनवासी वानर को रघुकुल के राजकुमार द्वारा 'शरणम्' (आश्रयदाता) कहना राम की निरहंकारिता और कूटनीतिक कुशलता का परिचायक है। राम जानते हैं कि भौगोलिक ज्ञान और स्थानीय सेना के बिना रावण को हराना असंभव है। 'त्वत् अधीना' (तुम्हारे अधीन) कहकर राम सुग्रीव को मनोवैज्ञानिक रूप से सशक्त कर रहे हैं ताकि वह अपने भाई के भय से मुक्त होकर पुनः युद्ध के लिए तैयार हो सकें।
