ततो गिरि तटे जाताम् उत्पाट्य कुसुमायुताम् ।
लक्ष्मणो गज पुष्पीम् ताम् तस्य कण्ठे व्यसर्जयत् ॥ ॥४-१२-४०॥
tato giri taṭe jātām utpāṭya kusumāyutām । lakṣmaṇo gaja puṣpīm tām tasya kaṇṭhe vyasarjayat ॥ ॥4-12-40॥
Translation
Then Lakshmana uprooted that Gajapushpi creeper, laden with flowers growing on the mountain slope, and placed it around his (Sugriva's) neck.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब लक्ष्मण ने पर्वत की ढलान पर उगी हुई उस फूलों से लदी गजपुष्पी लता को उखाड़कर सुग्रीव के गले में डाल दिया।
English Commentary
Lakshmana's promptness is notable here. This scene blends the service of a younger brother with the discipline of a soldier obeying his commander. The flower-laden creeper (kusumāyutām) gives Sugriva a distinct visual signature on the battlefield, resolving the issue of target acquisition for Rama. The technical hurdle that caused the previous failure is now effectively removed.
