विपरीत इव आकाशे सूर्यो नक्षत्र मालया ।
अद्य वालि समुत्थम् ते भयम् वैरम् च वानर ॥ ॥४-१४-१०॥
viparīta iva ākāśe sūryo nakṣatra mālayā । adya vāli samuttham te bhayam vairam ca vānara ॥ ॥4-14-10॥
Translation
"(You look) like the sun in the sky encircled by a garland of stars, appearing extraordinary. O Monkey! Today, your fear and enmity born of Vali (will end)..."

"(इस लता के साथ तुम ऐसे लग रहे हो) जैसे आकाश में नक्षत्रों की माला से युक्त सूर्य विपरीत (अनोखा/विलक्षण) दिखाई देता है। हे वानर! आज वालि से उत्पन्न तुम्हारा भय और वैर (दोनों समाप्त हो जाएगा)..."
English Commentary
Rama uses a striking astronomical simile. The sun is usually alone; seeing it with a 'nakṣatra mālayā' (garland of stars) would be 'viparīta'—an inversion of nature, a rare and potent omen. This metaphor elevates Sugriva to a cosmic scale, suggesting he is a unique force of nature today. Rama concludes with a definitive declaration: 'Adya' (Today), the root causes of Sugriva's trauma—'bhayam' (fear) and 'vairam' (enmity)—originating from Vali, will be extinguished. It is the final assertion of victory before the combat begins.
