Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ततः स जीमूत कृत प्रणादो नादम् हि अमुंचत् त्वरया प्रतीतः ।
सूर्यात्मजः शौर्य विवृद्ध तेजाः सरित् पतिर्वा अनिल चंचल ऊर्मिः ॥४-१४-२२॥
tataḥ sa jīmūta kṛta praṇādo nādam hi amuṃcat tvarayā pratītaḥ । sūryātmajaḥ śaurya vivṛddha tejāḥ sarit patirvā anila caṃcala ūrmiḥ ॥ ॥4-14-22॥
Translation
Then, that son of the Sun (Sugriva), whose radiance was enhanced by his valor, roared like a thundercloud. Filled with confidence and haste, he released a sound like the ocean with waves agitated by the wind.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब उस सूर्यपुत्र (सुग्रीव) ने, जिसका तेज शौर्य के कारण बढ़ गया था, मेघ के समान गर्जना की। उसने शीघ्रता और विश्वास के साथ, वायु से चंचल लहरों वाले समुद्र (सरित् पति) के समान भीषण नाद किया।
English Commentary
The canto concludes with Sugriva fully transformed. He is referred to as sūryātmajaḥ (Son of the Sun), emphasizing his divine lineage and burning energy. His tejas (spiritual luster) is amplified by shaurya (valor). The imagery combines the sky (thundercloud - jīmūta) and the earth (ocean - sarit pati). The comparison to the ocean agitated by wind (anila caṃcala ūrmiḥ) is apt; just as the wind stirs the deep ocean, Rama's encouragement has stirred the depths of Sugriva's courage, making him ready for the lethal encounter.

इस सर्ग के अंतिम श्लोक में सुग्रीव का रूपांतरण पूर्ण होता है। अब वह केवल वानर नहीं, 'सूर्यात्मजः' (सूर्य का पुत्र) है। राम के संग से उसका 'तेज' और 'शौर्य' बढ़ गया है। यहाँ दो उपमाएं हैं—बादल (जीमूत) और समुद्र (सरित् पति)। जैसे हवा समुद्र में ज्वार लाती है, वैसे ही राम के वचनों ने सुग्रीव के भीतर साहस का ज्वार ला दिया है। वह 'प्रतीतः' (आश्वस्त/Confident) है। यह श्लोक युद्ध के लिए सुग्रीव की पूर्ण तैयारी की घोषणा करता है।
