दान मानादि सत्कर्रैः कुरुष्व प्रत्यनन्तरम् ।
वैरम् एतत् सम् उत्स्रृज्य तव पार्श्वे स तिष्ठतु ॥ ॥४-१५-२७॥
dāna mānādi satkarraiḥ kuruṣva pratyanantaram । vairam etat sam utsṛjya tava pārśve sa tiṣṭhatu ॥ ॥4-15-27॥
Translation
Make him close to you again through gifts, honor, and hospitality. Abandoning this enmity entirely, let him stand by your side (as a supporter).
हिंदी अनुवाद
दान और मान आदि सत्कार द्वारा उसे अपना बना लीजिये। इस वैर को पूरी तरह त्याग कर वह (सुग्रीव) सदा आपके पार्श्व (बगल) में, सहायक बनकर रहे।
English Commentary
Tara proposes a diplomatic resolution using Dana (gifts) and Mana (honor/respect). She understands that Sugriva’s rebellion stems from humiliation; therefore, restoring his dignity is the cure. By advising Vali to keep Sugriva at his side (pārśve tiṣṭhatu), she envisions a united front where the two brothers protect each other. This is sound statecraft: turning a potential usurper into a loyal lieutenant by addressing the root cause of the grievance—the lack of respect and security.

यहाँ तारा 'साम, दाम, दंड, भेद' की राजनीति में से 'दान' और 'मान' का प्रयोग करने की सलाह दे रही हैं। रूठे हुए स्वजन को मनाने का यही सर्वोत्तम उपाय है। 'प्रत्यनन्तरम्' का अर्थ है उसे अपने इतना निकट कर लेना कि कोई भेद न रहे। तारा का विजन यह है कि यदि सुग्रीव और वाली मिल जाएं, तो किष्किंधा अजेय हो जाएगी। वह चाहती हैं कि सुग्रीव वाली के 'पार्श्व' (side) में रहें, जिसका अर्थ केवल भौतिक निकटता नहीं, बल्कि शक्ति के स्तंभ के रूप में साथ खड़ा होना है। वैर त्यागना ही राजा की सुरक्षा की गारंटी है।
