शब्दम् दुर्मर्षणम् श्रुत्वा निष्पपात ततो हरिः ।
वेगेन च पद न्यासैर् दारयन् इव मेदिनीम् ॥४-१५-५॥
śabdam durmarṣaṇam śrutvā niṣpapāta tato hariḥ । vegena ca pada nyāsair dārayan iva medinīm ॥ ॥4-15-5॥
Translation
Hearing that unbearable sound, the Vanara (Vali) rushed out, seemingly tearing the earth apart with the force of his footsteps.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस असहनीय शब्द को सुनकर वह वानर (वाली) वहां से (महल से) बाहर निकला। वह अपने पैरों के वेगपूर्ण निक्षेप (पटकने) से मानो पृथ्वी को फाड़ रहा था।
English Commentary
Vali's exit is explosive. He rushes out (niṣpapāta) unable to tolerate the sound. The physical impact of his rage is such that his footsteps seem to be tearing the earth apart (dārayan iva medinīm). This hyperbole emphasizes his raw physical power and his lack of grounding or stability at this moment. He is not walking with the dignity of a king, but charging with the fury of a beast.

वाली का बाहर निकलना ही एक प्रलय जैसा है। 'दुर्मर्षणम्' (जिसे सहा न जा सके) शब्द ने उसे चुंबक की तरह खींचा। उसके चलने की गति और भार का वर्णन 'दारयन् इव मेदिनीम्' (पृथ्वी को विदीर्ण करता हुआ) से किया गया है। यह उसकी शारीरिक शक्ति का प्रदर्शन है, लेकिन साथ ही यह उसके विवेकहीन आवेश को भी दर्शाता है। वह बिना विचार किए, केवल बल के अहंकार में बाहर दौड़ा।
