Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तम् तु तारा परिष्वज्य स्नेहाद् दर्शित सौहृदा ।
उवाच त्रस्त संभ्रांता हित उदर्कम् इदम् वचः ॥४-१५-६॥
tam tu tārā pariṣvajya snehād darśita sauhṛdā । uvāca trasta saṃbhrāntā hita udarkam idam vacaḥ ॥ ॥4-15-6॥
Translation
Then Tara, embracing him out of affection and displaying her goodwill, spoke these words which were beneficial for the future, though she was scared and agitated.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब तारा ने स्नेहवश उसे (वाली को) गले लगाकर अपना सौहार्द (प्रेम/हितैषिता) प्रकट किया और भयभीत तथा घबराई हुई दशा में यह परिणाम में हितकारी वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Tara intervenes as the voice of reason. Her action is driven by sneha (affection) and sauhṛda (goodwill). Despite being trasta (scared) of the situation and Vali's rage, she acts to save him. She embraces him (pariṣvajya) to physically impede his reckless charge and to soften his temper. Her words are described as hita udarkam—beneficial in the long run/future outcome. This establishes Tara as a farsighted character contrasting with Vali's shortsighted impulsiveness.

तारा का प्रवेश इस प्रसंग में अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। वह केवल पत्नी नहीं, एक बुद्धिमती परामर्शदाता है। यद्यपि वह 'त्रस्त संभ्रांता' (भयभीत और घबराई हुई) है क्योंकि वह अनिष्ट को भांप रही है, फिर भी वह 'हित उदर्कम्' (जिसका परिणाम अंत में अच्छा हो) वचन बोलती है। पति को क्रोध में देखकर भी उसे रोकने का साहस करना तारा के प्रेम और बुद्धिमत्ता (Diplomacy) का प्रमाण है। 'परिष्वज्य' (गले लगाकर) वह वाली के क्रोध को शांत करने का प्रयास करती है।
