प्रविष्टायाम् तु तारायाम् सह स्त्रीभिः स्वम् आलयम् ।
नगर्या निर्ययौ क्रुद्धो महा सर्प इव श्वसन् ॥ ॥४-१६-१३॥
praviṣṭāyām tu tārāyām saha strībhiḥ svam ālayam । nagaryā niryayau kruddho mahā sarpa iva śvasan ॥ ॥4-16-13॥
Translation
Once Tara had entered her abode with the women, Vali, angry and breathing (hissing) like a great serpent, went out of the city.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तारा के स्त्रियों सहित अपने महल में प्रवेश कर जाने पर, अत्यंत क्रोधित वाली एक महासर्प की भाँति फुफकारता हुआ नगर से बाहर निकला।
English Commentary
With the restraining force of Tara removed, Vali's aggression takes over completely. The simile mahā sarpa iva śvasan (hissing/breathing like a great serpent) conveys his lethal intensity and physiological agitation. He exits the safety of his citadel, driven by rage. This imagery marks the transition from the emotional farewell to the fierce anticipation of combat.
हिंदी टीका
तारा के जाते ही वाली का क्रोध फिर से भड़क उठता है। उपमा 'महा सर्प इव श्वसन्' (विशाल सांप की तरह फुफकारते हुए) बहुत सटीक है। यह उसकी घातक प्रकृति और तीव्र आवेश को दर्शाती है। अब कोई उसे रोकने वाला नहीं है। वह 'नगर' (किष्किंधा) की सुरक्षा छोड़कर मृत्यु के मैदान में कदम रखता है। यह श्लोक दृश्य को घरेलू माहौल से बदलकर रौद्र रस की ओर ले जाता है।
