तौ भीम बल विक्रान्तौ सुपर्ण सम वेगिनौ ।
प्रयुद्धौ घोर वपुषौ चन्द्र सूर्यौ इव अंबरे ॥ ॥४-१६-२५॥
tau bhīma bala vikrāntau suparṇa sama veginau । prayuddhau ghora vapuṣau candra sūryau iva ambare ॥ ॥4-16-25॥
Translation
Both possessing terrible strength and valor, with speed equal to Garuda, and having formidable bodies, they fought like the Sun and the Moon in the sky.

भयानक बल और पराक्रम वाले, गरुड़ (सुपर्ण) के समान वेग वाले और विशाल शरीर वाले वे दोनों जब युद्ध करने लगे, तो आकाश में चंद्रमा और सूर्य के समान प्रतीत हो रहे थे।
English Commentary
The narrative zooms out to admire the spectacle. Both combatants are matched in bhīma bala (terrible strength) and speed comparable to Garuda (suparṇa). They are likened to the Sun and Moon (candra sūryau) clashing in the sky (ambare). This celestial metaphor elevates the brawl to an epic event, emphasizing that this is not just a fight between monkeys, but a collision of titans that dominates the horizon like the luminaries of the heavens.

कवि दोनों योद्धाओं के द्वंद्व को ब्रह्मांडीय स्तर (cosmic scale) पर ले जाते हैं। उनकी गति 'सुपर्ण' (गरुड़) जैसी है और उनका स्वरूप 'घोर' (भयानक) है। उपमा 'चन्द्र सूर्यौ इव' (सूर्य और चंद्र की तरह) बहुत प्रतीकात्मक है। सुग्रीव सूर्य-पुत्र है और वाली इंद्र-पुत्र (लेकिन यहाँ उसे चंद्र की शीतलता नहीं, बल्कि आकाशीय वर्चस्व के संदर्भ में देखा गया है)। जैसे ग्रहण के समय सूर्य और चंद्र टकराते हैं, वैसे ही ये दोनों भाई किष्किंधा के आकाश में टकरा रहे हैं।
