ततो धनुषि संधाय शरम् आशी विष उपमम् ।
पूरयामास तत् चापम् काल चक्रम् इव अन्तकः ॥ ॥४-१६-३३॥
Tato dhanuṣi saṃdhāya śaram āśī viṣa upamam |
Pūrayāmāsa tat cāpam kāla cakram iva antakaḥ ॥4-16-33॥
Translation
Then, fixing an arrow strictly resembling a snake's venom on his bow, he drew that bow fully, just as Death (Antaka) wields the Wheel of Time.

तदनन्तर, सर्प के विष के समान भयानक बाण को धनुष पर चढ़ाकर, उन्होंने उसे वैसे ही खींचा जैसे काल (यमराज) कालचक्र को खींचते हैं।
English Commentary
The imagery implies inevitable doom. The arrow is compared to 'āśī viṣa' (deadly serpent venom), suggesting that a single strike is fatal. Rama's action of drawing the bow is likened to Antaka (Death personified) wielding the 'Kāla Chakra' (Wheel of Time). This suggests that the arrow is not just a weapon but an instrument of destiny. The tension in the bowstring mirrors the final moments of Vali's life ticking away.
