निवर्तस्व सह स्त्रीभिः कथम् भूयो अनुगच्छसि ।
सौहृदम् दर्शितम् तावत् मयि भक्तिः त्वया कृता ॥ ॥४-१६-६॥
nivartasva saha strībhiḥ katham bhūyo anugacchasi । sauhṛdam darśitam tāvat mayi bhaktiḥ tvayā kṛtā ॥ ॥4-16-6॥
Translation
Return along with the other women; why do you follow me further? You have shown your friendship and demonstrated your devotion towards me.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अब आप अन्य स्त्रियों के साथ लौट जाइये। मेरे पीछे-पीछे क्यों आ रही हैं? आपने अपना सौहार्द (स्नेह) दिखा दिया है और मेरे प्रति अपनी भक्ति भी सिद्ध कर दी है।
English Commentary
Vali gently but firmly enforces the boundary between the domestic sphere and the battlefield. By acknowledging her Sauhṛdam (friendship/good-heartedness) and Bhakti (devotion), he validates her feelings while dismissing her strategic counsel. He implies that she has fulfilled her dharma as a devoted wife by warning him, but now she must withdraw. It highlights Vali's determination to face his destiny alone, refusing to hide behind his wife's caution, driven by a warrior's resolve.

इस श्लोक में वाली का स्वर अब आदेशात्मक लेकिन स्नेहपूर्ण है। वह तारा की चिंता को स्वीकार करता है ('सौहृदम् दर्शितम्'), लेकिन उसकी सलाह को मानने से इंकार कर देता है। वाली यहाँ स्त्रियों और युद्ध क्षेत्र के बीच एक स्पष्ट रेखा खींच रहा है। उसका कहना है कि एक पत्नी का कर्तव्य 'भक्ति' और 'सौहार्द' दिखाना था, जो तारा ने बखूबी निभाया। अब आगे का निर्णय पुरुष और राजा का है। यह वाली के आत्मविश्वास को दर्शाता है कि उसे अपनी सुरक्षा के लिए पत्नी की ढाल की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
