Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स तम् आश्वासयत् रामो वालिनम् व्यक्त दर्शनम् ।
साधु सम्मतया वाचा धर्म तत्त्वार्त्ध युक्तया ॥४-१८-५९॥
sa tam āshvāsayat rāmo vālinam vyakta darshanam । sādhu sammatayā vācā dharma tattvārtdha yuktayā ॥ ॥4-18-59॥
Translation
Then Rama comforted Vali—who now had clear insight—with words approved by the righteous and endowed with the true essence of Dharma.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब श्रीराम ने उस स्पष्ट दृष्टि वाले (या जिसके सामने सत्य प्रकट हो गया था) वाली को, साधु पुरुषों द्वारा सम्मत और धर्म के सार से युक्त वाणी द्वारा आश्वासन दिया।
English Commentary
Rama responds not with anger, but with compassion and wisdom. The descriptor 'vyakta darshanam' for Vali implies that the monkey king now sees the reality clearly; the veil of ignorance has lifted. Rama’s words are described as being in alignment with the highest ethical standards ('sadhu sammataya') and rooted in the core truth of Dharma. This establishes Rama’s role as the spiritual guide who, after administering the necessary punishment, provides the philosophical balm to heal the dying warrior’s spirit.

यहाँ राम की प्रतिक्रिया का वर्णन है। वाली अब 'व्यक्त दर्शनम्' है, अर्थात उसे सत्य और धर्म का स्पष्ट ज्ञान हो गया है, उसका भ्रम मिट चुका है। राम उसे सांत्वना देते हैं, न कि तर्क करते हैं। राम की वाणी 'साधु सम्मतया' (सज्जनों द्वारा मान्य) और 'धर्म तत्त्वार्थ युक्तया' (धर्म के वास्तविक अर्थ से युक्त) है। यह दर्शाता है कि राम का उद्देश्य वाली को नीचा दिखाना नहीं, बल्कि उसकी मरणासन्न आत्मा को शांति देना है। एक न्यायाधीश की भांति दण्ड देने के बाद, राम अब एक रक्षक की भांति उसे संभाल रहे हैं।
