पाद मूलम् गमिष्यामि तस्य एव अहम् महात्मनः ।
यो असौ राम प्रयुक्तेन शरेण विनिपातितः ॥४-१९-१९॥
pāda mūlam gamiṣyāmi tasya eva aham mahātmanaḥ । yo asau rāma prayuktena śareṇa vinipātitaḥ ॥ ॥4-19-19॥
Translation
I will go to the feet of that very Mahatma (great soul), who has been struck down by the arrow released by Rama.

मैं उन महात्मा (बाली) के चरणों के समीप जाऊंगी, जो राम द्वारा छोड़े गए बाण से मार गिराए गए हैं।
English Commentary
Tara resolves to go to the battlefield, specifically to the pāda mūlam (root of the feet) of her husband. Her use of the term mahātmanaḥ (great soul) for Vali validates his status in her eyes, regardless of the accusations against him. She explicitly mentions that he was felled by Rama's arrow, indicating she is fully aware of the formidable nature of the opponent. This decision to walk towards the very force that killed her husband—Rama—demonstrates her courage. She chooses the duty of a wife (being at her dying husband's side) over the instinct of self-preservation.
