अश्मभिः परिभिन्न अंगः पादपैर् आहतो भृशम् ।
राम बाणेन च आक्रान्तो जीवित अंते मुमोह सः ॥४-१९-२॥
ashmabhiḥ paribhinna aṃgaḥ pādapair āhato bhṛsham । rāma bāṇena ca ākrānto jīvita aṃte mumoha saḥ ॥ ॥4-19-2॥
Translation
His limbs broken by stones, heavily struck by trees, and overwhelmed by Rama's arrow, he fainted at the end of his life.

पत्थरों से जिसके अंग टूट गए थे, वृक्षों की चोट से जो अत्यंत घायल था, और राम के बाण से आक्रान्त (बिंधा हुआ) था—वह वाली जीवन के अंत में मूर्छित हो गया।
English Commentary
The physical toll of the battle is graphically described. Vali was not just shot; he was battered by the primitive weapons of the duel—rocks and trees—wielded by Sugriva, before receiving the fatal blow from Rama. 'Paribhinna angah' (shattered limbs) shows the brutality of the fight. The verse culminates in 'mumoha'—he fell into a swoon or faint. This loss of consciousness marks the transition from active dying to the final departure. It underscores the mortality of even the strongest beings when faced with the combined force of physical assault and divine will.

यहाँ वाली की शारीरिक स्थिति का भीषण चित्रण है। सुग्रीव के साथ हुए द्वंद्व युद्ध में पत्थरों ('अश्मभिः') और वृक्षों ('पादपैः') की चोटों ने उसे पहले ही जर्जर कर दिया था। उस पर राम के अमोघ बाण ने उसके प्राणों को संकट में डाल दिया। 'मुमोह' (मूर्छित हो गया) शब्द बताता है कि चेतना अब लुप्त हो रही है। यह महाबली योद्धा, जो पर्वतों को चूर्ण कर सकता था, अब नितांत विवश होकर मृत्यु की गोद में जा रहा है। यह दृश्य दर्शकों (और पाठकों) के मन में करुणा उत्पन्न करता है।
