सा व्रजन्ती ददर्श अथ पतिम् निपतितम् भुवि ।
हन्तारम् दानव इन्द्राणाम् समरेषु अनिवर्तिनाम् ॥४-१९-२१॥
sā vrajantī dadarśa atha patim nipatitam bhuvi । hantāram dānava indrāṇām samareṣu anivartinām ॥ ॥4-19-21॥
Translation
While going, she then saw her husband fallen on the ground—the slayer of the lords of Danavas who never retreated in battles.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जाते हुए उसने पृथ्वी पर गिरे हुए अपने पति को देखा, जो दानवेन्द्रों (राक्षस राजों) का वध करने वाले थे और युद्धों से कभी पीछे नहीं हटते थे।
English Commentary
Upon reaching the scene, Tara witnesses the tragic sight of her husband lying on the bare ground. The poet highlights the stark contrast between Vali's current helpless state and his glorious past. He is described as the slayer of powerful Danavas and one who never retreated (anivartinām) in battle. This juxtaposition serves to magnify the tragedy; the fall of such an invincible warrior evokes a profound sense of loss. It emphasizes that death spares no one, not even the mightiest of conquerors who once instilled fear in demons.

तारा रणभूमि में पहुँचकर बाली की दुर्दशा देखती है। यहाँ कवि विरोधाभास (contrast) का उपयोग करते हैं। एक ओर बाली 'भुवि निपतितम्' (ज़मीन पर पड़ा हुआ) है, और दूसरी ओर उसका इतिहास 'दानव इन्द्राणाम् हन्तारम्' (बड़े-बड़े राक्षसों का वध करने वाला) और 'अनिवर्तिनाम्' (युद्ध से कभी न भागने वाला) है। तारा की दृष्टि से यह देखना अत्यंत कष्टदायक है कि जो वीर कभी परास्त नहीं हुआ, आज वह असहाय होकर धूल में पड़ा है। यह श्लोक बाली के शौर्य का स्मरण दिलाकर उसकी वर्तमान स्थिति की त्रासदी को और गहरा करता है।
