राज्य हेतोः स चेत् भ्राता भ्रात्रा कॄरेण पातितः ।
रामेण प्रसृतैः दूरात् मार्गणैः दूर पातिभिः ॥४-१९-९॥
rājya hetoḥ sa cet bhrātā bhrātrā krūreṇa pātitaḥ । rāmeṇa prasṛtaiḥ dūrāt mārgaṇaiḥ dūra pātibhiḥ ॥ ॥4-19-9॥
Translation
"Has that brother (Vali) been struck down by his cruel brother (Sugriva) for the sake of the kingdom, using arrows released from afar by Rama that strike at a distance?"

"राज्य के लिए क्रूर भाई (सुग्रीव) ने उस भाई (वाली) को मरवा दिया है—क्या राम के द्वारा दूर से छोड़े गए और दूर तक जाने वाले बाणों से?"
English Commentary
Tara succinctly reconstructs the crime. She identifies the motive: 'rajya hetoh' (for the sake of the kingdom). She identifies the perpetrators: the 'cruel brother' Sugriva and the archer Rama. She specifically notes that the arrows were released 'durat' (from a distance), acknowledging that Rama did not fight face-to-face, which validates the rumors of a hidden attack. Her analysis cuts through the chaos to the cold political truth: this was a coup d'état executed with foreign military aid.
