एवम् एक आयन गताः प्लवमाना गिरेः गिरिम् ।
प्रकंपयन्तो वेगेन गिरीणाम् शिखराणि च ॥४-२-९॥
Evam eka āyana gatāḥ plavamānā gireḥ girim |
Prakampayanto vegena girīṇām śikharāṇi ca ॥4-2-9॥

Thus moving in a single formation [or path], jumping from mountain to mountain, and shaking the mountain peaks with their speed...
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार एक ही मार्ग (या रणनीति) का अनुसरण करते हुए, वे एक पर्वत से दूसरे पर्वत पर छलांग लगाते हुए और अपने वेग से पर्वतों के शिखरों को कँपाते हुए (भागने लगे)।
English Commentary
This verse describes the kinetic energy of the vanara retreat. The phrase Eka ayana gatah implies coordinated movement—they moved as a single entity or followed a single course of action. The description plavamana gireh girim (bounding from mountain to mountain) highlights their agility and supernatural strength. The impact of their movement is such that it causes the very peaks to tremble (prakampayanto). This vividly conveys the sheer physical power of the monkeys, contrasting their physical might with their current psychological vulnerability. They are powerful enough to shake mountains, yet are fleeing from two men.
