कालो निःसंशयो नूनम् जीवित अंतकरः तव ।
बलात् येन अवपन्नो असि सुग्रीवस्य अवशो वशम् ॥ ॥४-२०-१४॥
Kālo niḥsaṃśayo nūnam jīvita antakaraḥ tava । Balāt yena avapanno asi sugrīvasya avaśo vaśam ॥ ॥4-20-14॥
Translation
Undoubtedly, Time (Kala) is the terminator of your life. It is by Time that you were forcibly dragged, helpless, under the control of Sugriva.
हिंदी अनुवाद
निःसंदेह 'काल' ही आपके जीवन का अंत करने वाला है। उसी काल ने आपको विवश करके बलपूर्वक सुग्रीव के वश में कर दिया (ताकि आप मारे जाएं)।
English Commentary
Moving from personal grief to philosophical acceptance, Tara acknowledges the supremacy of Kala (Time/Destiny) as the ultimate destroyer. She realizes that Sugriva was merely an instrument; it was inevitable Destiny that dragged Vali to this moment. The use of the word avaśaḥ (helpless/without control) is significant—it highlights that even the strongest beings are rendered powerless when their time is up. This verse strips away the blame from individuals and places the event in the grand cosmic design, accepting that Vali’s death was ordained by Time itself.

तारा यहाँ एक दार्शनिक सत्य को स्वीकार करती हैं: 'काल' (समय/मृत्यु) सर्वशक्तिमान है। वह मानती हैं कि सुग्रीव तो केवल एक निमित्त मात्र थे; वास्तव में यह काल का चक्र था जिसने महाबली वाली को भी असहाय (अवश) बना दिया। वाली जैसा योद्धा, जो कभी किसी से नहीं हारा, आज पराजित पड़ा है—यह किसी व्यक्ति की शक्ति नहीं, बल्कि काल की महिमा है। तारा का यह कथन नियतिवाद को दर्शाता है, जहाँ मृत्यु का समय निश्चित होने पर परिस्थितियाँ (जैसे सुग्रीव का ललकारना) स्वयं ही बन जाती हैं।
