यानि अस्माभिः त्वया सार्धम् वनेषु मधु गंधिषु ।
विहृतानि त्वया काले तेषाम् उपरमः कृतः ॥४-२०-८॥
yāni asmābhiḥ tvayā sārdham vaneṣu madhu gaṃdhiṣu । vihṛtāni tvayā kāle teṣām uparamaḥ kṛtaḥ ॥ ॥4-20-8॥
Translation
The sports/pleasures that were enjoyed by us along with you in the honey-scented forests—you have brought an end to them (all too soon) in time.

मधु की गंध वाले वनों में आपके साथ हमने जो विहार (क्रीड़ाएँ) किये थे, आपने (मृत्यु को प्राप्त होकर) असमय ही उन सबका अंत कर दिया है।
English Commentary
Tara reminisces about their shared past, specifically the romantic pleasures (vihṛtāni) enjoyed in the "honey-scented forests" (vaneṣu madhu gaṃdhiṣu). She laments that Vali has brought these joys to a sudden halt (uparamaḥ kṛtaḥ). This verse moves from the grand imagery of kingship to the intimate moments of a couple. It highlights the void left in her personal life—the cessation of companionship, romance, and the simple joys of wandering the forests together, which will never happen again.

अब तारा अतीत की सुखद स्मृतियों को याद करती है। 'मधु गंधिषु वनेषु' (मधु की महक वाले वनों में) विहार करना वानर जीवन के आनंद का प्रतीक है। वह याद करती है कि कैसे वे साथ-साथ घूमे थे। 'तेषाम् उपरमः कृतः' का अर्थ है कि आपने उन सुखों पर पूर्णविराम लगा दिया है। यह श्लोक व्यक्तिगत क्षति (personal loss) को रेखांकित करता है। राजा की मृत्यु केवल राज्य की क्षति नहीं है, बल्कि एक पत्नी के दाम्पत्य सुख और सहचर्य का अचानक अंत भी है। 'काले' शब्द यहाँ नियति या समय के क्रूर हस्तक्षेप का संकेत देता है।
