न हि मम हरि राज संश्रयात् क्षमतरम् अस्ति परत्र च इह वा ।
अभिमुख हत वीर सेवितम् शयनम् इदम् मम सेवितुम् क्षमम् ॥ ॥४-२१-१६॥
na hi mama hari rāja saṃśrayāt kṣamataram asti paratra ca iha vā । abhimukhahata vīra sevitam śayanam idam mama sevitum kṣamam ॥ ॥4-21-16॥
Translation
For me, there is nothing better in this world or the next than the company of the Monkey King. This bed (the ground), resorted to by the hero slain facing the enemy, is the only one fit for me to resort to.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरे लिए वानरराज के आश्रय (साथ) से बढ़कर न इस लोक में कुछ हितकर है और न परलोक में। सामने युद्ध में मारे गए वीर (वाली) द्वारा सेवित यह शय्या (मृत्यु शय्या/भूमि) ही मेरे सेवन करने योग्य है।
English Commentary
Tara's lament transforms into a steely resolve here. She expresses the desire to die alongside her husband. By using the phrase abhimukha hata (slain facing the enemy), she honors Vali’s warrior death. She rejects the comforts of the palace, preferring the dust-covered ground where her husband lies. For her, welfare in this world (iha) or the next (paratra) exists only in Vali's company. It is a declaration of total spiritual union.
हिंदी टीका
तारा का विलाप यहाँ एक दृढ़ निश्चय में बदल जाता है। वह 'सती' होने या पति के साथ प्राण त्यागने की इच्छा व्यक्त कर रही हैं। 'अभिमुख हत' (सामने से मारे गए/वीरगति प्राप्त) शब्द का प्रयोग करके वे वाली के क्षत्रिय धर्म का सम्मान करती हैं। वे राजमहल के सुखों को ठुकराकर उसी धूल-धूसरित भूमि पर लेटना चाहती हैं जहाँ उनके पति पड़े हैं। उनके लिए स्वर्ग (परत्र) और सुख (इह) केवल वाली के सानिध्य में है।
