Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एष तारात्मजः श्रीमान् त्वया तुल्य पराक्रमः ।
रक्षसाम् च वधे तेषाम् अग्रतः ते भविष्यति ॥ ॥४-२२-११॥
eṣa tārātmajaḥ śrīmān tvayā tulya parākramaḥ । rakṣasām ca vadhe teṣām agrataḥ te bhaviṣyati ॥ ॥4-22-11॥
Translation
This son of Tara is glorious and equal to you in valor. He will be at the forefront of your army in the slaughter of those demons (Rakshasas).
हिंदी अनुवाद
यह तारा का पुत्र (अंगद) श्रीमान है और पराक्रम में तुम्हारे समान है। उन राक्षसों के वध में यह तुम्हारे आगे रहेगा।
English Commentary
Switching from a father to a strategist, Vali assures Sugriva that Angada is an asset, not a liability. By stating he is tvaya tulya parakramah (equal to you in valor), he validates Angada’s competence. Vali foresees the coming war with Ravana and predicts that Angada will stand agratah (at the forefront) in killing demons. This is a tactical recommendation to utilize Angada as a key military commander.
हिंदी टीका
पिता होने के बाद, अब वाली एक रणनीतिकार की तरह बात कर रहे हैं। वे सुग्रीव को आश्वस्त करते हैं कि अंगद केवल एक जिम्मेदारी (liability) नहीं, बल्कि एक संपत्ति (asset) है। 'त्वया तुल्य पराक्रमः' कहकर वे अंगद की क्षमता को प्रमाणित करते हैं। वाली को भविष्य के युद्ध (रावण के विरुद्ध) का आभास है, इसलिए वे कहते हैं कि राक्षसों के वध में अंगद 'अग्रतः' (सबसे आगे) रहेगा। यह सुग्रीव को अंगद को सेनापति बनाने का संकेत है।
