ताम्र गैरिक संपृक्ता धारा इव धरा धरात् ।
अवकीर्णम् विमार्जन्ती भर्तारम् रण रेणुना ॥ ॥४-२३-२०॥
Tāmra gairika saṃpṛktā dhārā iva dharā dharāt । Avakīrṇam vimārjantī bhartāram raṇa reṇunā ॥ ॥4-23-20॥
Translation
[Looking at him] flowing like a stream mixed with red ochre from a mountain, Tara began wiping her husband who was covered in the dust of battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
गेरू (लाल मिट्टी/धातु) से मिश्रित पर्वत से बहने वाली जलधारा की तरह (बहते हुए रक्त वाले), और युद्ध की धूल से सने हुए अपने पति को तारा पोंछने (साफ करने) लगीं।
English Commentary
Now that the arrow is removed, Tara performs the intimate act of "Vimarjanti" (wiping/cleaning) her husband's body. The mountain metaphor persists: Vali's bleeding form is likened to a mountain referencing streams of water rich in "Tamra gairika" (red ochre/copper minerals). The commentary focuses on the tenderness of the act. Amidst the blood and "Rana renu" (battle dust), she tries to restore some dignity to his physical form. It is a heartbreaking gesture of care, cleansing the debris of the violence that took him from her.

बाण निकलने के बाद तारा अब अपने पति के शरीर को स्पर्श कर सकती हैं। वाली के शरीर से बहता रक्त ऐसा लग रहा है जैसे किसी पर्वत ('धरा धरात्') से गेरू (लाल खनिज) मिश्रित पानी बह रहा हो। तारा अपने आंसुओं और हाथों से पति के शरीर पर लगी युद्ध की धूल ('रण रेणुना') को साफ कर रही हैं ('विमार्जन्ती')। यह एक पत्नी की अंतिम सेवा है। वह जानती हैं कि वे चले गए हैं, फिर भी वह उनके शरीर को ऐसे संभाल रही हैं जैसे वे जीवित हों। यह भक्ति और वात्सल्य का चरम है।
