संप्रसक्तस्य वैरस्य गतो अन्तः पाप कर्मणा ।
बाल सूर्योज्ज्वल तनुम् प्रयातम् यम सादनम् ॥ ॥४-२३-२३॥
saṃprasaktasya vairasya gato antaḥ pāpa karmaṇā । bāla sūryojjvala tanum prayātam yama sādanam ॥ ॥4-23-23॥
Translation
"The end of the long-standing enmity has come through this sinful deed (of fighting). Your father, whose body shines like the morning sun, is departing to the abode of Yama."

"पापकर्म (वैर-भाव) के कारण जो शत्रुता चल रही थी, उसका अब अंत हो गया है। प्रातःकालीन सूर्य के समान उज्ज्वल शरीर वाले तुम्हारे पिता अब यमराज के भवन की ओर प्रस्थान कर रहे हैं।"
English Commentary
Tara articulates a philosophical and tragic truth here: death is the final resolution to all conflicts. The phrase 'vairasya gato antaḥ' suggests that the feud between Sugriva and Vali has ended, but at the ultimate cost. She refers to the conflict or the act of killing as 'pāpa karmaṇā' (sinful deed), highlighting the moral ambiguity and tragedy of fratricide. Despite his impending death, Vali is described as having a body 'shining like the morning sun' (bāla sūryojjvala). This metaphor emphasizes his innate vitality and glory, which makes his death feel premature and unnatural. It implies that a great light is being extinguished. Tara guides Angada to understand that the father he knew is now a traveler on the path to Yama, beyond the reach of worldly relationships.

इस श्लोक में तारा मृत्यु को शत्रुता के पूर्ण विराम के रूप में देखती है। 'वैरस्य गतो अन्तः'—वैर का अंत हो गया है, लेकिन इसकी कीमत वाली के प्राणों से चुकानी पड़ी। तारा यहाँ युद्ध को 'पाप कर्मणा' कहती है, जो यह दर्शाता है कि भाइयों के बीच का युद्ध अंततः पाप और विनाश ही लाता है। वाली की तुलना 'बाल सूर्य' (प्रातःकालीन सूर्य) से करना यह बताता है कि मृत्यु के बाद भी वाली का तेज कम नहीं हुआ है। वह अभी भी ओजस्वी दिख रहे हैं। यह उपमा करुणा को और बढ़ा देती है—जैसे उगता हुआ सूर्य अस्त होने को मजबूर हो गया हो। तारा अंगद को बता रही है कि अब पिता से मिलने का कोई अवसर शेष नहीं है, क्योंकि वह यमलोक की यात्रा पर निकल चुके हैं।
