स्वर्गे अपि पद्म अमल पत्र नेत्र समेत्य संप्रेक्ष्य च माम् अपश्यन् ।
न हि एष उच्चावच ताम्र चूडा विचित्र वेषाः अप्सरो अभजिष्यत् ॥४-२४-३४॥
Svarge api padma amala patra netra sametya saṃprekṣya ca mām apaśyan । Na hi eṣa uccāvaca tāmra cūḍā vicitra veṣāḥ apsaro abhajiṣyat ॥ ॥4-24-34॥
Translation
O Rama with eyes like pure lotus petals! Even in heaven, upon arriving and looking around but not seeing me, he (Vali) will certainly not enjoy the company of Apsaras clad in diverse guises with coppery hair.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे कमल की पंखुड़ी जैसे निर्मल नेत्रों वाले राम! स्वर्ग में पहुंचकर और (वहाँ) मुझे न देखकर, वह (वाली) नाना प्रकार के विचित्र वेश और ताम्रवर्ण के चूड़ा वाली अप्सराओं के साथ भी रमण (आनंद प्राप्त) नहीं करेंगे।
English Commentary
Tara deepens her argument about Vali's afterlife. Addressing Rama with the gentle epithet of "lotus-eyed," she contrasts earthly love with celestial pleasure. She argues that Vali, upon reaching heaven (Svarge api), will scan the crowd for her. Finding her absent, he will reject the Apsaras (celestial nymphs), described here vividly with copper-colored hair and exotic costumes. Tara asserts her indispensability to Vali's happiness. It is a subtle psychological pressure on Rama: "You sent him to heaven to enjoy, but without me, your gift of heaven is flawed." She implies that true happiness for Vali lies in her company, not in celestial luxuries.

तारा यहाँ वाली के स्वभाव का मनोवैज्ञानिक चित्रण करती है। वह राम को 'पद्म अमल पत्र नेत्र' (कमल के निर्मल पत्तों से नेत्र वाले) कहकर संबोधित करती है, जो राम की सौम्यता को पुकारने का प्रयास है। तारा कहती है कि स्वर्ग की अप्सराएँ, चाहे वे कितनी भी सुंदर हों, 'विचित्र वेश' (आकर्षक वेशभूषा) धारण करें, वे वाली को संतुष्ट नहीं कर सकतीं। यह भारतीय दांपत्य जीवन का आदर्श है जहाँ पत्नी पति की एकमात्र संगिनी मानी जाती है। तारा को विश्वास है कि भौतिक सुख या स्वर्ग का ऐश्वर्य उसके प्रेम का स्थान नहीं ले सकता। वह राम को समझा रही है कि यदि उन्होंने उसे जीवित छोड़ा, तो वे वाली को स्वर्ग में भी दुखी रखने का पाप करेंगे।
