शास्त्र प्रयोगात् विविधाः च वेदात् अनन्य रूपाः पुरुषस्य दाराः ।
दार प्रदानात् न हि दानम् अन्यत् प्रदृश्यते ज्ञानवताम् हि लोके ॥४-२४-३८॥
Śāstra prayogāt vividhāḥ ca vedāt ananya rūpāḥ puruṣasya dārāḥ । Dāra pradānāt na hi dānam anyat pradṛśyate jñānavatām hi loke ॥ ॥4-24-38॥
Translation
Based on the application of Shastras and various Vedas, wives are the identical form of the husband. Therefore, in the eyes of the wise in this world, no gift is seen to be greater than the gift of a wife (restoring her to her husband).

शास्त्रों के प्रयोग और विभिन्न वेदों से यह सिद्ध है कि पत्नी (दारा) पुरुष का अनन्य (अभिन्न) रूप है। अतः ज्ञानियों की दृष्टि में लोक में पत्नी का दान (पति को सौंपना) अन्य किसी भी दान से बढ़कर दिखाई देता है।
English Commentary
Tara concludes her plea with scriptural authority, citing the Vedas and Shastras. She reiterates the non-difference (ananya rūpāḥ) between husband and wife. She reframes the act of killing her from a sin into the highest form of charity (Danam). In the Hindu worldview, giving a gift (especially giving a bride to a groom) is meritorious. Tara argues that by killing her, Rama would essentially be performing the act of Dara Pradana—gifting the wife back to the husband in the afterlife. She appeals to the perspective of the "wise ones" (jñānavatām), challenging Rama to act not just as a warrior, but as a sage who understands the deeper spiritual reality of marital union.

अपने अंतिम तर्क में तारा वेदों और शास्त्रों का हवाला देती है। वह कहती है कि पत्नी और पति 'अनन्य रूपाः' (एक दूसरे से अलग न होने वाले रूप) हैं। इसलिए, यदि राम तारा को मारकर उसे वाली के पास भेजते हैं, तो यह हत्या नहीं, बल्कि 'कन्यादान' या 'दार-प्रदान' जैसा पुण्य कर्म होगा। भारतीय संस्कृति में 'दान' का बहुत महत्व है। तारा राम को समझा रही है कि उसे वाली से मिलाना एक सर्वश्रेष्ठ दान है। एक विलाप करती हुई स्त्री का वेदों और शास्त्रों का ऐसा ज्ञान उसकी विद्वता को सिद्ध करता है। वह राम को एक 'ज्ञानी' के रूप में संबोधित करती है, जिससे अपेक्षा की जाती है कि वे इस गूढ़ सत्य को समझेंगे।
