अंगदः तु आनयेत् माल्यम् वस्त्राणि विविधानि च ।
घृतम् तैलम् अथो गन्धान् यत् च अत्र समनंतरम् ॥४-२५-१६॥
aṅgadaḥ tu ānayet mālyam vastrāṇi vividhāni ca |
ghṛtam tailam atho gandhān yat ca atra samanantaram ॥4-25-16॥
Translation
Let Angada bring garlands, various types of garments, ghee, oil, scents, and whatever else is immediately required here.

अंगद मालाएं, विभिन्न प्रकार के वस्त्र, घी, तेल, सुगंधित द्रव्य और अन्य जो भी सामग्री यहाँ तत्काल आवश्यक हो, उसे ले आए।
English Commentary
From a psychological perspective, assigning tasks to the grieving is a way to manage trauma. By instructing Angada to fetch the ceremonial items—garlands, ghee, oil—Lakshmana forces him to engage in action rather than remaining paralyzed by sorrow. These items are essential for a traditional Vedic cremation. It ensures that the son, who is central to the funeral rites, is intimately involved in the preparation, honoring his father through service.
