त्वम् तार शिबिकाम् शीघ्रम् आदाय आगच्छ संभ्रमात् ।
त्वरा गुणवती युक्ता हि अस्मिन् काले विशेषतः ॥४-२५-१७॥
tvam tāra śibikām śīghram ādāya āgaccha saṃbhramāt |
tvarā guṇavatī yuktā hi asmin kāle viśeṣataḥ ॥4-25-17॥
Translation
O Tara, go quickly and bring a palanquin with urgency and alacrity. Speed is indeed a meritorious quality, especially at this time.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे तार! तुम शीघ्रता और तत्परता से एक शिबिका (अर्थी ले जाने वाली पालकी) लेकर आओ। इस समय विशेष रूप से शीघ्रता करना ही उचित गुण है।
English Commentary
Note: The person addressed here is 'Tara', a male commander of the Vanara army, distinct from Queen Tara. Lakshmana instructs the commander to fetch the funeral palanquin (shibika). He emphasizes speed ('tvara'), stating it is a virtue in this specific context. Delays in funeral rites are considered inauspicious and unhygienic in Hindu tradition.
