चिताम् चक्रुः सुबहवो वानरा वन चारिणः ।
अवरोप्य ततः स्कंधात् शिबिकाम् वानरोत्तमाः ॥ ॥४-२५-३८॥
Citām cakruḥ subahavo vānarā vana cāriṇaḥ । Avaropya tataḥ skaṃdhāt śibikām vānarottamāḥ ॥ ॥4-25-38॥
Translation
Many forest-dwelling Vanaras constructed a funeral pyre. Then, the foremost among the Vanaras lowered the palanquin from their shoulders.

वन में विचरण करने वाले बहुत से वानरों ने चिता तैयार की। तदनंतर, वानरश्रेष्ठों ने उस शिबिका (पालकी) को अपने कंधों से नीचे उतारा।
English Commentary
This verse depicts the logistics of the royal funeral. A distinction is drawn between the general "forest-wandering" Vanaras who construct the pyre and the "best of Vanaras" (nobles or commanders) who bear the pall. This highlights the hierarchy and the collective effort involved in honoring the fallen king. Lowering the palanquin signifies the end of the procession and the beginning of the final rites, a moment of heavy finality for the onlookers.
