न कर्ता कस्यचित् कश्चित् नियोगे च अपि न ईश्वरः ।
स्वभावे वर्तते लोकः तस्य कालः परायणम् ॥४-२५-५॥
na kartā kasyacit kaścit niyoge ca api na īśvaraḥ |
svabhāve vartate lokaḥ tasya kālaḥ parāyaṇam ॥4-25-5॥
Translation
No one is the doer of any action, nor is anyone the master who commands it. The world revolves according to its own inherent nature, and Time is its ultimate refuge.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कोई भी किसी (कर्म) का कर्ता नहीं है और न ही कोई किसी को प्रेरणा देने वाला स्वामी है। यह संसार अपने स्वभाव में ही बरत रहा है और काल (समय) ही इसका एकमात्र आश्रय (संचालक) है।
English Commentary
Rama expounds on the illusory nature of agency. He asserts that the ego falsely claims authorship of actions, whereas the world actually operates according to its own inherent nature ('svabhāva') and the dictates of Time ('Kala'). By stating that no one is truly the master, Rama absolves Sugriva of the guilt of fratricide and Tara of her anger towards him. This is a high philosophical stance indicating that life and death are natural processes governed by Time, not merely the results of petty human squabbles. It urges acceptance of the inevitable flow of existence.

यहाँ 'अकर्तृत्व' का सिद्धांत प्रतिपादित किया गया है। श्रीराम कह रहे हैं कि अहंकारवश मनुष्य स्वयं को कर्ता मानता है, किन्तु वास्तव में प्रकृति और काल का चक्र ही सब कुछ संचालित कर रहा है। वाली की मृत्यु किसी व्यक्ति की इच्छा का परिणाम न होकर, काल के प्रवाह का परिणाम है। 'स्वभावे वर्तते लोकः' का अर्थ है कि जन्म, जीवन और मृत्यु—यह सब प्रकृति का स्वभाव है। जब काल पूर्ण होता है, तो प्राणी शरीर त्यागता है। इस परम सत्य को जानकर शोक का त्याग करना ही बुद्धिमानी है।
