किम् तु काल परीणामो द्रष्टव्यः साधु पश्यताको धर्मः च अर्थः च कामः च कालक्रम समाहिताः ॥४-२५-८॥
kim tu kāla parīṇāmo draṣṭavyaḥ sādhu paśyatā |
dharmaḥ ca arthaḥ ca kāmaḥ ca kālakrama samāhitāḥ ॥4-25-8॥
Translation
But the result of Time must be perceived clearly by the wise. Even Dharma (righteousness), Artha (wealth), and Kama (desire) are entirely dependent on the sequence of Time.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तत्व को सही प्रकार से देखने वाले (बुद्धिमान) व्यक्ति को संसार की घटनाओं को केवल काल का परिणाम ही समझना चाहिए। धर्म, अर्थ और काम भी काल के क्रम में ही समाहित (आधारित) हैं।
English Commentary
Rama integrates the concept of the Purusharthas (goals of life) with the philosophy of Time. He states that the pursuit and fruition of Dharma, Wealth, and Pleasure are all bound by temporality. They have their season and their end. True wisdom lies in recognizing that the current tragedy is simply a 'result of Time' ('kāla parīṇāmo'). By framing life's pursuits as subject to the chronological order, Rama suggests that Vali's phase of enjoying earthly power and pleasures has naturally concluded according to the cosmic schedule, and thus should be accepted with equanimity.

भारतीय दर्शन के त्रिवर्ग (धर्म, अर्थ, काम) की चर्चा करते हुए श्रीराम कहते हैं कि जीवन के ये उद्देश्य भी समय के अधीन हैं। एक समय होता है अर्थ कमाने का, एक समय काम का, और एक समय धर्म का। और अंततः, सब कुछ काल के गर्भ में विलीन हो जाता है। बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति ('साधु पश्यता') वह है जो सुख और दुख दोनों को काल का स्वाभाविक परिणाम माने। वाली ने अपने समय में धर्म, अर्थ और काम का उपभोग किया, और अब काल-क्रम से उसका अंत आया है। यह जीवन का चक्र है।
