पूर्वो अयम् वार्षिको मासः श्रावणः सलिल आगमः ।
प्रवृत्ताः सौम्य चत्वारो मासा वार्षिक संज्ञिताः ॥ ॥४-२६-१४॥
Pūrvo ayam vārṣiko māsaḥ śrāvaṇaḥ salila āgamaḥ । Pravṛttāḥ saumya catvāro māsā vārṣika saṃjñitāḥ ॥ ॥4-26-14॥
Translation
"O gentle one! This is Shravana, the first month of the rainy season, bringing showers. The four months designated as the rainy season have begun."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे सौम्य! यह वर्षा ऋतु का पहला महीना 'श्रावण' है, जिसमें जल की वर्षा होती है। वर्षाकाल कहे जाने वाले चार महीने अब शुरू हो गए हैं।"
English Commentary
Rama shifts from politics to logistics. He identifies the current time as "Shravana," marking the onset of the monsoon. In ancient Indian warfare and travel, the four months of rain (Chaturmasya) were a period of enforced pause ("salila agamah" - arrival of waters). Rama acknowledges that immediate action for Sita's search is logistically impossible due to the weather, setting the stage for a waiting period.

राम अब सीता की खोज के अभियान के समय-चक्र (Timeline) को निर्धारित कर रहे हैं। प्राचीन भारत में वर्षा ऋतु (चौमासा/चातुर्मास) के दौरान यात्रा और युद्ध स्थगित कर दिए जाते थे। 'श्रावण' मास का उल्लेख कहानी को एक निश्चित समय सीमा में बांधता है। राम यथार्थवादी हैं; वे जानते हैं कि अभी तुरंत खोज शुरू नहीं की जा सकती क्योंकि रास्ते बंद हो जाएंगे और नदियाँ उफान पर होंगी।
